Please forgive me as i am new on here. I am looking for the records for Streamliner classes, I have tried to open the link on the " http://www.landracing.com/" opening page but it wont load and keeps telling me somthing I dont understand (maybe i'm computer stupid lol). I am looking at building a single engine rear drive car with a supercharged V8, and want to try and find a class where i can be somewhat "in the ball park" of the record. hope someone can point me in the right direction of a records list, Thanks

Almost all blown Streamliner records 60 ci and above are above 300mph You might try an unblown gas class to work out the new car blues. Welcome to the quest. We all want to go faster.

Carby's and NA stuff we don't understand, i have raced a blown altered to 220mph (over the 1/4) and know that type of engine combo so want to stay with what I know about (or some at least lol) from the list above A/BGS(286mph) and B/BGS(308mph)look intersting and within reach of our ability, but i could be wrong, we are from Australia so there are no Australian records in just about all streamliner classes at present so could at least hold one over hear if not a world mark to start with. but at this point we are just researching the what, ifs and cans about dipping our toe in the water of LSR as drag racing in this country has lot the plot.

Go to the front page of this site and click on the link to DLRA. That's the organization for Australian land speed racing activity. Their records are probably posted on the site and I believe the rules they go by are there too.
Good luck! Pete

Thanks for the info guys and the welcome
I have had a good look at the records and got an idea of whats within the realm of maybe possible and whats just not in my league. but that has led me to another question for all you helpful souls.
I understand F or Fuel is for alky, nitro, NO2 and alike, but what constitutes G or "GAS", what is considered legal "gas" ?
thanks again

These american car records are a tough nut for an Aussie to crack. They are set by folks that know what they are doing and they have spent a lot of years doing it. They do not have to travel halfway around the world and back to do it, either.
In the beginning, getting the most seat time for dollar spent is a good idea. There is a lot to learn. Build a blown back wheel drive V-8 that you are comfortable with and race it. Do not worry about records. There is always a personal record to better or getting the "best time of the meet." An Australian record is something to be proud of.
Welcome to LSR and have a good time.

The DLRA are an awesome group. I've never raced there but I was treated to their hospitality, beer and a BBQ at a meeting I attended last year.

I think all GOM wanted was the record and maybe a hat for someone. It just barley bumped Noland's Whites 25+ year record.

Big Al, welcome aboard. Having come from a drag racing background myself I can tell you that HP is the easy part! Finding room for engine and oil cooling is tough but needed. Dry sump the only way to go. Good luck!
