Very interesting.

 Couple questions although.

 1. Is it going to be at speedweek?
 2. What is the intention at speedweek?
Testing? Low Speed Runs? All out Attempt?
 3. Why the three wheel design up front?

 I like it.

wow, i saw this at el mirage last weekend... i'm guessing it has three wheels in front because it's one-wheel, rear-wheel-steering in the back.

my friends and i were discussing it because we'd always heard that rear-wheel steering didn't work too well for lsr, but, since the title of this post includes the words 'chet herbert', i'll assume it could work.

the pictures don't really show how radical this thing is... there's no other current vehicle remotely like it.  you could practically hear jaws dropping when they rolled it into inspection.

 good luck!

Well I hope all goes well, so much for being on the salt, as far as I know rear wheel steer are banned at an SCTA-BNI meet. I recall hearing about this car a couple of years ago.

But I would assume they will be doing a bunch of private time.

The odds are statistically against them, seeing as every rear wheel steer car has hardly made two full miles without a crash. With execption of Thrust car. The odds are against them, lots say it cant be done, which I would really like to see it succedd. Prove that it can work and maybe let it back in SCTA-BNI events. I like it when you can innovate all you want and not be excluded from all the fun.

test run at El Mirage 7-23-04 on longer 120mph run than last time Spike got too much dust in cockpit to see. Thought we had cockpit sealed but that did not work. Will make vent system for cockpit and go back for more tests as soon as possible

Wow! This monster is HOT!
That's what I like about this side of auto sports.. It doesn't matter what it looks like.. If it can pass muster then let'er run! Got to admit that it isn't the most beautiful car I've seen... But at least it doesn't have a prop on it!
  God speed you guys!
