Mike Riechen set a new track record for a car at 237 MPH in the mile and then it was topped by Eric Yost in his white Drag Week 3rd Gen Firebird at 241 mph a short time later to take the Super Street jacket !!

It seemed like a lot more cars (way more than bikes) than we had last year. I heard we had quite a spectator turnout also--just new visitors or a crowd of car buffs? Sure would be great to have the kind of visitor support that I hear Loring enjoys.

Yabut -- what else was there to do that weekend in Maine.  Wanner has put together the go-to event in the state!

What a great meet. Here's a couple of pics of what I think were the winners. Haven't seen any results yet so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re;"Yabut -- what else was there to do that weekend in Maine.  Wanner has put together the go-to event in the state!"

There is an annual Fair, http://www.northernmainefairgrounds.com/, encompasses same weekend as LTA this year and last. A load of people commented on the convenience of attendsing both events, makes it more worthwhile to drive a farther distance. The promoter at Spud Speedway apparently felt likewise in scheduling that mini concert Saturday night, too.
Wintertime they have over 2000 miles of state groomed Sno Mo trails, much of which is also utilized by ATVs in the summer. Fishing, hiking, hunting is also popular in The Crown of Maine, Aroostook County, biggest East of the Mississippi , larger than Rhode Island !
I've nothing bad to say about Mainers, they treat us Great !!!
