Some photos of the Ferarri Challenge at MMP, April 2010
« on: April 11, 2010, 04:36:08 PM »
I'm gonna add a few photos before I run off in all directions to do the addition to my web server

There were some very, very interesting cars there.  I wish I'd been able to get a shot of the 512 LM that was there making "demo" laps.  Really kool car.

Here we go.

The "official Ferrari of North America" trailer with an F430 in front.
The "Stars and Stripes" 430 crosses the finish line.
"Ouch!"  (But if ya got the coin to compete in this series, it's prolly chump change.)
F430 Spyder as seen from the crow's nest

Who let the Maserati with the Buick Portholes in the gate?
And an Alfa 8c3100?
A prancing horse of a different color
An Fxx with an attitude In the Attitudes (name of the set of downhill corners.)

Some of the cars were even painted Ferrari red.
And some were other colors.  I chose to deal with the reflective flares by giving 'em sunburst effects.
A little panning blur.
Lastly, an apparent Kirkham 40 Ford convert in polished copper with ghost flames.  Wes Potter was kind enough to fill me in on the fact that it's built on a Ford GT platform, complete with mid-engine set up.  If you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it...supposedly a quote from Etorre Bugatti.

Ray,

You can have the car, I want the trailer.

Buick portholes?  Cruiserline Ventiports, per the old advertisements.

I guess the '40 proves that having lots of money doesn't always mean having good sense and taste.
