Charles,
How did you do?

Well my first run Saturday was a total screw up on my part.  In October I ran with MT ET Street Radials and it hooked kinda OK at the start but was "greasy" at the finish and in shut down, so for this meet I switched to Z Rated BFG G Force Sports (that match my fronts).  So on the first run I took off with the stick in second blazed the tires shifted to third, bogged, back to second blazed the tires again, then to neutral, then to third, then it got straight in the groove and ended up with a 138.xxxx...  so I went back to the pits,,, thought about how  crappy I drove and headed back to the start,,, to think about it and clear my mind...the second run was picture perfect (except for the loss of adhesion ,, aka long burn out). hooked around the 1/4  and was charging to the end for  the VICKY's best ever  152.85972.. It was a good pass.

Then today,, driving down to the start line...about 25mph,,, I hit the brake pedal,,, and it went to floor,, NO BRAKES...

So no runs for me today...  but the 152.8 from Saturday made the weekend successful

The April meet was great! The weather, reconnecting with friends and the racing was top notch.
The best part of the whole weekend was standing near the finish line when Bill Warner made his pass at 272mph!! WOW, I still get goose bumps when I think about what that turbo Busa sounded like when it went past.

264 is wild, but Bill - 272!  That fairing must work!  Fantastic run!

And what a great photo in the traps!  I don't know how it turned out so clear but it's just great!

Both you guys ARE coming to Loring again, right?

Not only was Bill's speed incredible, he hit more than one cone. Four cones down, one trashed, and two were about 40 off the track. We picked up probably 30-40 pieces of fiberglass including about 1/3 of the front fender and he stayed up! Spectacular riding.

I told Keith I was going to move those cones one way or another  :-D
I almost missed them, but was going to clip one on the edge, so I pointed the bike at it and ran it straight over.  Log shows I hit the cone at 167mph.  My fault, my timing was off for the corner.  Still wish the cones weren't there.
A cone to a bike is like a telephone pole to a car.

I would like to add congratulations to Team Guthrie for an outstanding, if disappointing, weekend and comment on Shane's performance. While the oil-down from the broken bike was too close to the end of the meet to clean up and restart, he did a superbe job of getting off the racing strip as soon as was safely possible and limit the "damage" to the course. While disappointed and frustrated as he surely was, Shane showed the upmost composure and more self control than I could ever muster in a similar situation. Thanks for being so nice at shutdown, not everyone can be.
