I just re-read the PS rules and they have made a few changes recently. Yes it does look like you are fine for PS class.

I wanna testify!  I visited the STD shop today and all you see above looks better in the wood grained flesh. Saw dust and metal chips are mixing in an unholy alliance. Ed's back is to the time line wall but he seems to do his best work there. The concept seems sound but as usual we will take to the track with zippo R&D. Seat of the pants racing, its what we do.

Today I got the body work fiberglassed on the outside, and sealed with resin on the inside. Filled the worst of the dips and sanded off the worst of the bumps and got it kind of close to shape. Now it's time to hand it off to Jimmy Jon for final smoothing.

Oops, just remembered, I'm not done with it yet, I still need to cut the access door for the kicker and get the hinges and latches installed. Then it will be ready for Jimmy Jon.

With all that mud I guess woody style panels are off the table. Here is a shot I haven't seen you post. The LSR air conditioned porta-john!

Whizz
I.m too late with an idear for body work, but here goes anyway.
Do it the same as you have done BUT use davinicell instead of wood .1/4''
1 layer of glass on the inside set to shape as you have done (glue with body filler)
The foam can be cut to help it bend
You now have a foam surface that can be sanded
Make the tight curved surfaces with block foam and shape to suite
When the shape is good, 1 layer of glass on the outside.
The structure is light and verry stiff.
Look for the red Vincent outfit at BUB and I can show you.

I'll definitely look you up to see how that works out. This ended up heavier than I wanted it, but with time short it's what I've got to work with. Maybe it'll make a good plug for a light weight body in the future, if it works well that is.

See ya on the salt in a couple of days!

The best of luck Ed.  If you're Bonneville is half as good as mine was you'll have a great time!!

Well, I haven't had time to post anything lately, been jamming on getting the bike done in between w(#k and honey doos. Got it off the lift and the body on it just now. It's going in the trailer tonight, leaving for the salt in the AM.

Here's some pics of what I came up with, in case any one's interested. Comments or guesses on performance are welcome, LOL.

Three thumbs up! It certainly resembles your design. Rubber neckers will have to form a line. Looking forward to seeing it roll. I have Tuckers old kick arm and taper bolt in the truck and two "F"s on the counter. See you in the AM.

Ed, the butt end of that nice bike would make a perfect form to mold aluminum around.  There is no need for hammering or pop rivets.  Simple English wheel work and welding would make a very light and professional looking metal shell.

I got two thumbs and they are both up!!!!  Looks terrific Ed.  Another ass dragger on the salt!  It looks like its doing 100+ just sitting there.  You may have no choice but to go very fast.  I hope so.

Very unique, good luck this week.

I think you could pull off that 'knee shield' and run in unfaired classes without much loss in aero.
