Good for LSR
« on: March 10, 2010, 08:48:12 PM »
The 22nd Annual AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast was held at Daytona last week.
The speakers were Leslie Porterfield, Chris Carr, Denis Manning. It put Land Speed Racing in the forground
for a lot of people who knew little or nothing about our sport.
Question authority.....always

Thanks for that link Bob.  I always enjoy listening to Denis, at times he is quite the philosopher and his laugh is genuinely contagious.
Looking forward to seeing you, your dad and the rest of the very special volunteers and participants at this years BUB meet.

We are blessed to have several "leaders" in this sport. The guys who have stuck to it, suffered the frustrations, learned the lessons and carried on. Through this time the sport has taught them much and we newbies would be well served to listen to them when they speak. They have made the mark in history that we one day hope to surpass. They will be the first to say "it ain't easy" and the first to offer help, what a sport!!
Many thanks to those who have gone before and found time to help me and others pursue the dream of our ultimate speed achievement.  That is just a part of what is "Good for (and about) LSR"
