Moon-style discs
« on: February 06, 2010, 10:41:45 PM »
Would it be allowable to use a non-purpose built wheel cover (i.e. aluminum pan) as a moon style disc provided that it fit well and was secured properly? IIRC the rules state 6 screws or 3 dzus fasteners.

Sort of. I was thinking of something a little thicker, but that is the idea.

Historically, and I think there's examples in Dean Batchelor's great book,  of WASHING MACHINE covers being used as wheel disks.

(You know, the wringer kind, like Maytag built for granma).

Pretty hard to do today, they're too square.
