Firewall
« on: January 08, 2010, 07:23:48 PM »
I use a set of regular gauges and all of the wires run and op line run through a 3/4 ish hole in my firewall. I have a cut up pcv gromet that I use to keep the edges from damaging the lines. My 2009 rulebook says that all holes have to be sealed, and the gromet doesn't seal it. What would qualify as sealing the hole? If I used high temp RTV to seal fill the open area would that be safe?

I'll second that.  Available in caulk tubes.  I'd plan ahead and get all of your holes at once - seems that once it's opened, even capping it off didn't keep it from drying out and getting hard in the tube.
