Hmm, since it was my post... maybe I should contribute too...

Well I did get some tools for the shop.

a 3/4 HP  8" bench/stand  top buffer.
a 37 degree flaring tool.

Some Garage Art.... Nice Rat Rod metal sign and a Life Begins at 200MPH Road Sign.

A few parts too.

Battery Box, Trunk Mount battery terminal and cable kit, battery disconnect switch, HPG-1 Fuel Filter assembly, duel spring throttle return assembly, 25ft of Fuel Line and various fittings,

Just enough to keep me in the shop all week,,,,

Told my wife I wanted a 14" chop saw, & she said what the he!! is that, go buy one, put it under the tree, and I will put on a bow.  Problem is, she wouldn't let me use it until after Christmas.

JW,,  most stores or online stores have a "wish list" deal..

you pick out several items and email the wish list to your wife,,, then she can buy you stuff you actually want and will use... That is how I do it,,, last year I got a Quick Fuel 850 Carb, a bench grinder....

With the wish list the "non automotive" purchasers can get you parts or tools that you pre select.

I use  Northern Tool, Harbor Freight, Sears/Craftsman, Jegs, Summit,  etc,,, and for more specific parts I email her the exact part number, the phone number , the price and who to talk to for places that don't have wish lists... like CV Products and other performance parts distributors etc..

Book "Throttle - 1941 The Complete Collection", to keep the proper perspective on how much "new" is really "old".

Several gift cards to B&N to help quench my never ending thirst for tech & reference books.

Agree with runt, best of all the hugs from bride, children, and grand children, priceless!

My 21 year old gave me a sears gift card which will go towards a new inch lb torque wrench.  I bought myself a set of cams with money from relatives.  My wife gave me a new chef's knife for Christmas - REALLY Nice knife.

Probably more of a distraction than a help, but Kate got me a copy of Upton Sinclair's, "The Flivver King", a short novel based on the life of Henry Ford and the rise of FoMoCo, with perspectives of a worker and unionizing attempts.  Vintage yellow journalism - or perhaps not - I've still got to read it.
