I don't know my So. Cal. geography well -- but I know Willie Buchta is in Modesto and builds lots of stuff with tube that he bends and shapes.  He's a bike guy -- but might be willing to work with you on a car.

Also -- there was quite a thread on bending machines and devices in just the past few days.  Go through the archives and see if you can find it, then look at the posts to see if one of the folks that contributed is near you and might be able to help.

That would be H and L on Signal Hill.

I use Doug Robinson's Horsepower Engineering in Pasadena. (The 66 roadster)

Autopower in the San Diego area.

There are others in the vicinity that advertise in the SCTA rulebook and the Bonneville program.

5 mph in pit area (clothed)

The first dragster I built was a 4130 kit I bought in 1968, for $ 150.00 from H&L Metals in Signal Hill, CA.    Bought a NEW Vertex magenito from Joe Hunt for $ 135.00.  My, my, have times, and $$$ changed !!  However, at that time, I was making $ 3.00 hr.  Guess Einstein was right, all things are relative.  Is H&L Metals in Signal Hill, CA still around ???

H & L did my bending. I did all the bends on brown butcher paper and they matched them perfectly. Left everything long and did my own fitting...Good Luck.............JD

Found a bender !!  Desolate Motorsports in Whittier CA.  Also TIGs, MIGs & fabs.  REASONABLE prices, & the kid can do almost anything.
