This list came together pretty quickly, but I'm wondering if there are some "best practices" that larger shops and factories adhere to that might be practicable on a smaller scale.  Any thoughts?

Wandering a little off this subject, but still safety related.
Keep a stash of food and drink in your vehicle, especially with our current weather.

Don
And a couple cans of dog food. If you keep people food for an emergency, You might eat it. I would have to be awfully Dodge hungry to eat dog food.( not that I have`nt tried a bite)
I`d never advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...But they work for me.

You should expand your thinking to your daily driver.  My daughter is an EMT and insisted I needed a first aid kit IN the truck before a road trip a few years ago.  This thread got me thinking so I pulled it out and freshened up the kit, replacing anything that might have become damaged and updating some of the items with newer technology.  I've never needed to use the contents but it's comforting to know I have them just in case.  Now I should sit in on some of the classes she helps to teach to learn the best way to use the contents when a need arises.
