BUB Speed Trials question
« on: July 07, 2004, 02:15:00 AM »
Hi all,

I was planning on riding out to spectate and make a
"run what-cha brung" pass for $100, but I got to
looking at the AMA pre-entry price of only $200, and
started thinking I'd dust off the old roadracer and
make a few passes. The bike is hopeless for record
attempts, being a 500cc four-stroke single with an
overbore that will bump me up to the 650cc class,
but good enough for some grins. Plus my existing
leathers will be legal for this event!  ;)

Are they going to allow riding back to the pits on
the return road? Or will they use the SCTA rule
of towing or hauling back in. I looked at the BUB/
AMA online rulebook, and did not see this addressed.

 Thanks for your help.

My guess would be you need a trailer. Otherwise all kinds of vehilces could be running around in the pits.

I just spoke with Delvene from Bub's....

trailers are not REQUIRED to move the bikes around. You can ride to and from the start/finish line if you wish. There will be a strict speed limit on the return roads and in the pits. Anyone violating this rule will be required to trailer around from then on out, or be asked to leave.

NO test runs outside of the prescribed track.
