MPG or APG
« on: October 19, 2009, 05:48:53 PM »
Just a quick question

I need to button up this project but I am unsure of what to put on the number plate.

I am running a stock frame Norton for an  M-PG/750 minimum of 134  but El Mirage does not have an MPG designation. Can I identify the bike as MPG and run it as APG?

Thanks in advance

Nope -- it'll be A/PG.  There's no penalty for running it that way at EM and then running it as M/PG when you go to Bonneville.

Spoken from a guy that doesn't race much at EM -- but I think I'm right.

at el mirage there is no M class --so your M at bonneville will run as A at el mirage---be very carefull  of having the info on your entry form correct and the information on your bike correct---if the info isnt correct you cant change it at the same meet ( you can if you havent ran yet ) ive seen records lost because of this mistake and not just from new racers either------------------------willie buchta

I did -- and I thank you for your kind words (so to speak).  Give me a mailing address and I'll send a bit of swag your way.

We leave at 6 tomorrow morning for Maxton and won't be back for about a week -- but once we're hear we'll get something off to you pretty quick-like, hear?

M and A are combined at El Mirage.  But seperate at Bonneville.  Where you need to be careful is filling out the computer code for El Mirage.  APG is 408 and MPG is 459.  There have been a couple of records lost because of a simple mistake with one number.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.
