Getting old is a serious B***H..... I was reading a post on the forum yesterday that had a picture of an early Kawasaki four cylinder, four stroke, 1000ccc engine that came out of a snowmobile. I can't remember which thread it was in.....can anyone help? Buzz

Did not see the thread, but, there is a hot Kawi powered sled here in town.. ex dragbike blown engine.. detuned a bit.. puts out around 400 hp This guy has sleds that run 8 sec 1/4 miles on pavement. could it be that one? Heard a sled ran at WOS.. anyone know how fast and where it was from?

754, I'd have to look carefully to give you the precise numbers, but it was from Quebec and ran just a tad over 200 -- enough to get the rider, Francis, Morin, into the 200 MPH Club (albeit with a wite bunch of controversy about whether a snomo should be in the Club, but that's another story). 202 or so was the speed. Yamaha snomobile (nee motorcycle 1000 cc engine on alky and about 3%).

754,
No that's not the one. This was just a photo of the engine. It was a early Kawasaki KZ1000 engine. The engine was different because the cases ended just behind the chrank and it had no transmission.
It really not that important I just want to take another look at it.
Thanks,
Buzz

Mike, for pictures of our Pikes Peak sidecar.....Google...."Bob Bakker Sidecar".....and then go to "Sidecar Photos '98 Pikes Peak Hill Climb"
PS. It notes the Kawa motor is 900c.c........not so it is 1275c.c.......................................................

Kent,
If you have a set of those KZ style snowmobile cases I'd be interested..
Thanks for looking and let me know.
