Its looking good.  That's a big psychological boost when you get far enough along so it looks like a motorcycle.

October 21st 2009.
Not much accomplished this past weekend.  I was able to get the front and rear axles drilled, the rear brake stay arm completed and the mounting bolts drilled and front axle pinch bolts drilled. I’ll be using castle nuts and cotter keys instead of safety wire so all the necessary safety issues have been completed.
I also was able to fabricate an aluminum plate that will mount under the upper seat frame rails that will be the mounting location for the electrical gear.  I’ll have to mount a rev limiter, a starter relay and a relay for the power supply to the coils on the plate and I wanted to make it accessible.
I was also able to get the brake master cylinder cleaned up and mounted as well as the clutch lever, the kill switch and the switch mounting bracket for the starter button and the on-off switch.
Hoping to get the electrical and fuel delivery systems completed next weekend.

Still targeting to be at El Mirage on the 14th and 15th of November to make a couple of test runs.

Talk to you later…

Couple of updated photos below.

A shot after the safety issue were addressed.

A shot of the electrical mounting plate and the locations it will be mounted in.

Controls test fitted.

Just another view of the electrical mounting plate.

So there must be two "best" clubs int he SCTA.. I was told the Sidewinders were the club of choice   so that's the one I joined....Plus I don't think you'd want my Kawasaki in SDRC  :-D

Seems like we haven't heard from Kaz in a while.

I've lived in Vegas for over 50 years and raced there often in various type of motorcycle events but never met or ran across Kaz....

A little progress last night..

The donor engine was removed from the street bike and it's setting in the LSR chassis and bolted up. The new chain arrived yesterday as well as the starter relay and an additional steering dampner fork bracket (eBay). I didn't want to cannibalize the street bike to much so I bought some misc items off of eBay to speed the process along.

A couple of photos below...

This is the donor engine.  A stock KZ900 with a 1000 head...so it's a little low on compression. Should be a good engine to use to sort out the chassis...

In the LSR chassis and buttoned down....

Time, time, I need more time......only two day until November.....

It looks like some allnighters.  Be careful and make sure everything is tightened down.  We all have been in this situation a time or two.
