Fred's down here at the line -- I'll ask him. But he's in the porta-potty line right now (I know, too much information), so I'll ask him when he's back from there.
Fred went 215, Scott. The record is now 214 1/2 or so. He's back in line -- changed gears, changed to fuel class -- gonna try for a 220 run, he says.

Dang -- had a post ready to go, hit the wrong button -- now have to try to remember what the heck I said. I know it was about the snomo that'll run at the Shootout next week. It's got a Yamaha R1 (motorcycle) 4-stroke 1000 cc blown engine, and I'm told they've got it diealed back to about 600 hp now (wonder how long it'll last out here?). Slick looking rig -- nice aero. The track is grooved inside, like a belt, and instead of lugs on the outside it's a v-groove. Let's see if you can see it in the photo: I'm told the belt is speed-rated to 250. Here's the entire snowmobile in the pits: Their posterboard:

We've been on hold here for a half hour or so. There's a problem with the timing lights, so everyone is enjoying some socialising -- except maybe the drivers that are suited up and in the cars. Sweat, sweat, swelter. The wind is down now -- but had been 7-10 headwind / slightly from the right side. Temp, according to the thermometer in the pickup, is 70. I stopped at the ERC truck and got some gas for dynoing our bike -- density altitude is less than 5100 feet. Good air! Did I mention that during Nancy's run the salt was wetter than yesterday? She didn't report any wheelspin, but the salt on the bike looks quite a bit wetter than after yesterday's runs. More when I get something -- or when runs resume. Here are some photos from impound this morning:

It's 2.15 and we're still on hold. Lights are farkled. The announcement just now says pre-stage will stay open 'til 2.30, and Rick Gold and the fuel truck will stay open 'til 4 -- not the 2PM he had originally planned.
Waiting -- going back to the pits.
We stopped by impound -- and discovered that nobody's in impound right now. There were only a few qualifying runs this morning -- before the laptop (not the lights) went awry, and that's where we are now -- waiting for the laptop to get de-gremlinized. Sorry to impunge the lights, Glen - I expect you were feeling kinda dissed when I kept saying the problem was the lights. By the way, this last information was from Jim Burkdoll -- race director.

Jon, SCTA has been very lucky the past few years with the Rices timing equipment and new wire a few years ago. James Rice was supposed to be there yesterday. Have you seen him? I know he had planned to talk to USFRA about the timing equipment. It's always worse when things have gotten wet. Hang in there and keep up the good work.

Dan Wright's 667 'liner - the Firecracker - just ran a 175 or so -- first good run in a year. His crew guy was the driver. I know they had issues earlier in the week, so this run is good news.
The Honda RC51 -- 7314 -- MPS G 1000 -- is on the course right now. Quarter mile 166.878, mile is 166.194, middle mile 137.115, turned out at the 5 -- must have been running the short course.
Car 1012, a B/GALT running now, Dennis Denham driving. Looks like a Studebaker to me (from my pit at about the one mile). 165.625 in the quarter, 174.994 in the first mile, 190.909 middle mile, 197.178, 199.939 back door. I think I see Fred Vance pulling into impound -- Congratulations, Fred. I'll post this and go investigate his speed.
