Mark DeLuca just made his return run on the Guppy. Although entered in the fuel class the bike is using non-oxygenated VP race gasoline. His timed mile speed was 245 MPH (GPS was 248) hitting the rev limiter midway through the mile. If you race motorcycles you can appreciate this accomplishment for a naturally aspirated bike at 4200' altitude. The bike was designed by me, the engine was built and tuned by Steve Knecum, and Mark DeLuca rode the wheels off it. Team Forstall-Knecum-DeLuca, the N/A kings. (Not so good with tube frame turbos. lol). My Thanks to Bob Carpenter for his cylinder head expertise and Dennis Murray for the best exhaust made. Amazing sport LSR, down one day, up the next. Thanks all. Larry OMFG! 245 on motor! Unreal performance, congrats Larry, Mark & Steve!

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime. His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.
Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all. J

No wonder that bikes weren't welcome years ago. Someone was clairvoyant
and saw this coming.

Was the 187mph by Aaron Wilson on bike 1987 his return run? I see 172 posted as his down run.

Nancy -- 201.913 mph record on a production ZX15!

Okay -- Nancy didn't get the hat -- but ran fast enough that her new record is 201.913. Seems one foot blew off the peg about the 4 3/4 -- she lifted reflexively for an instant and her speed suffered. 200 and a bit in the middle mile -- 199 and change in the last mile.
What a week -- rain when we got here, then a run with a 204 just a few days later. She gets her first record over 200 , her "A" license and she's likely to get the fast woman of the meet trophy. Decent!
Skip Higginbotham's liner with Gary Allen at the controls turned out on his return run. Ye Olde Dragon backed up his record, as did Mark Deluca (you already know that). Joe Amo ran a 254 in the last mile -- and had clicked it off when he was darn near blown off the bike by the wind. 254 and he shut it off! WOW!
The MotoGuzzi Team SublteCrowbar is back here in impound, and so is the Disorderly Conduct D/STR. The likttle diesel 'liner backed up the record, too.
The Skip Hedrick 'liner went past and I didn't hear his numbers exactly. He ran a 334 yesterday and at least 318 in the middle mile today. Man-o-man what a nice sounding car.
No speeds yet -- I'll report them when I get 'em.
George Poteet just went past -- motor sounding a bit off, but gee-zus, was he flying. High 270s is what the announcer said, I think.

Just got to be in the Red Hat ceremony for Dominick Granata, driver of the #647 D/STR. His new number is 200.806 -- on a 200 minimum. Congratulations, Dominick and the Disorderly Conduct team.

Hugs for Nancy and Joe Amo, get to work. You need about 12 MPH to be the fastest ever.

Any word on the speeds of Fred Vance's return run this morning and Bill Ross' (Team Subtle Crowbar) speed to get into impound?
Thanks, Scott
