Well, I'm back home and threw some stuff together on my server: http://www.chevyasylum.com/lsr/bsf2009/wos/pix/Welcome.htmlIt's sure nice to type on a real keyboard with a mouse that works and a broadband connection. I just about pitched that laptop and airhead air card into Lake Bonneville. That's why I was a bit frustrated toward the end of the day. I gotta find a better way to work with that or maybe just try to practice a little more patience. Sure. Right. In any case, I sure enjoyed seein all the folks I ran into (not over...I hope) and look forward to seein you again soon. I'll be back on the salt Saturday nite or Sunday for the Shootout. I gotta get some sleep.

Right on!!! Congrats to Skip and the team. Now go back it up!
Here's a shot from near the radio trailer (100-400 L zoom at 220mm, handheld. Image Stabilization is great!)

Nancy and I are about to leave the apartment and head to impound -- for what we hope is the first of two times today. Thanks to Ray -- BIG thanks to Ray for doing a fine job of babysitting the site and taking and posting photos yesterday. We'll be back at it later today.

Thank you Jon. I'm just about the door, heading for Miller's (short stop at the grocery store to pic up some grocs. Lemme know about the Mike Cook/Shootout thing, k? Ohhh...I just bought a battery pack and a Canon 18-200 f3.5-5.6 IS lens (it's an EF-S lens, not an L, but I bleeve it'll do what I need for a "walkin around" lens) from Amazon cuz my 28-135 lens croaked. Too bad they won't be here in time for the Shootout...although I may just have to make a run back home one night to see if it's arrived. Now...if I can just get the air card issues worked out..... Attached is another shot of Eric Nordloff's Dodge from the 100-400 lens, this time at 275, still handheld. He ran 90.976 on a 151 record. (Stats is easy to do from my main system.) One last thing: GO NANCY, GO!!!!! Later,

Thanks for the effort you've been putting in Ray. Guarantee you'll like the lens. I've got an 18-250 for my Pentax and an 18-180 for my Olympus. They're both sharp, relatively light and give a huge amount of flexibility. Have fun at MMP and we look forward to seeing more of your work on this site next week.

You and Nancy go get it done. Ray, great photo work and reporting, almost like being there. Glen, I can never get enough of your prespective and knowledge - past and present. Pat

Mark DeLuca just made his return run on the Guppy. Although entered in the fuel class the bike is using non-oxygenated VP race gasoline. His timed mile speed was 245 MPH (GPS was 248) hitting the rev limiter midway through the mile. If you race motorcycles you can appreciate this accomplishment for a naturally aspirated bike at 4200' altitude. The bike was designed by me, the engine was built and tuned by Steve Knecum, and Mark DeLuca rode the wheels off it. Team Forstall-Knecum-DeLuca, the N/A kings. (Not so good with tube frame turbos. lol). My Thanks to Bob Carpenter for his cylinder head expertise and Dennis Murray for the best exhaust made. Amazing sport LSR, down one day, up the next. Thanks all. Larry
