We're on a full-course hold here. I don't know why -- the radios are all silent. Nothing moving -- no chatter. The last car we saw run was the #283 Caddy. We'll let you know if that vehicle was involved in an incident -- or what the reason for the hold is.
We're going to pull the plug in this pit pretty quick and go put the bike into the line for tomorrow morning.

Jon, Have you seen the McBride & Moreau I/BFS car. I think it is car # 286. Just wandering if they made it and how they are running. Good luck to you and Nancy and thanks for all the updates.

Wow -- that's big-time fast for the Jaguar.
And Creel's running his flathead, so his times are off his usual with the OHV (OHC?) with the window blocks.

I'm ready to send this AT&T air card air mail into the nearest pool of salt water. It's slower'n molasses in January and I have to reboot every time I want to reconnect. Grrrr....
Ok. Some updates. The McBride and Moreau car won't run until tomorrow. That's from Pork Pie, who's part of that team.
There was an incident involving the #283 Caddy. I've heard that the driver is ok, but the car won't be able to make a return run. Bummer.
And after a very long delay, the 130 course is back up and running.
I was gonna leave the salt around 2pm tomorrow to shoot qualifying for the Rolex Grand-Am race at Miller's, but I've decided to blow that off and stay the full day here on the salt. But I'll have to be at the track in Tooele all day Saturday.
Finally, (refer to first attached photo) if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it might be a seagull.

Thank you, most honored one. Yer right. I didn't have a Rolex. And landscape photography? I appreciate the compliment, but I kinda prefer things that are loud and go fast. I'll just mention that the incident with the #283 (Bob Johnson Caddy) was both a bad thing and a good thing. The bad is that when he popped the chute after qualifying for the fuel class record, the chute lifted the rear end off the ground, the front end dug in and in did numerous end over end flips. The good news is that I talked with Bob just before the pits closed and he's fine. Not a scratch. The rest of the bad is that, according to a crew member, there isn't a salvageable piece left of the car. More later after I edit some photos and reboot this POS a few times. On second thought, here are a few 130 club entrants. Rat, u do good on mountains and lakes. Ever consider landscape fotografy?

One last shot before I get some dinner and crash for the night.
A kool Chevy kustom owned by the guy who gave me a jump start this morning when my battery croaked...I can't remember if I posted one or not.
A pro-street bike in the 130 staging lane.
A BMW/VW trike. Don't ask me...I just press the shutter release.
Last, an Impala SS who was grinning from ear to ear when he came back from his first run. Just about every first-timer on the 130 course had that same grin.
G'nite.

Here's a list of today's qualifiers (Thanks, Dan Warner):
#126 Cohn Jucweic Monza E/CGALT 222.818
#282 Blowfish C/BFCC 290.022
Mormon Missile qualified but hurt -- blew out a freeze plug -- won't be able to return run. Hoping for next week, though! By the way, the Missile is #468 B/DS 315.121
#475 Broken Parts/Spencer Racing E/CBFALT 186.028
#9991 Salt Cat Racing XO/BGCC 176.611
# 997 (B) John Stege 1350 SC-F 213.894
# 6062 (B) Dakin Eng. 1350 APS/PBG 95.645
# 329 (B) Pepperoni Bros. Racing 750 MPF 136.493
# 1051 (B) Stoney Fritz 1000 M/PBG 142.511
# 3503 (B) Thunder City Racing 350 SC/G 92.638
That's that. Return runs are in the morning -- I hear starting at 8AM. In the morning the vehicles that were still in line tonight will run right after the record return runs, as you'd expect. There are about two dozen in line tonight for the morning -- Buckeye Bullet is right in front of Nancy, Joe and Jon Amo are both still in line (unless they ran late this evening after we left, and it was past seven when we drove out), and so on.
That's it -- going to a buffet now. See you in the morning.
Don't forget -- tomorrow is Pork Pie's birthday anniversary. Send him a howdy. I don't know if he's got internet with him out here -- but put your good wishes on the "Happy Birthday PORK PIE" thread I'll start in the miscellaneous topic.

I moved my chute anchor point up to the recomended camshaft high, and my Stude at 5200# never slowed smoother...it used to be about ten inches lower, and always gave me a hell of a jolt..........and nosedive..............Bob
