Two Weeks and Counting
« on: September 01, 2009, 08:54:22 AM »
Tick, Tick.., Tick….., is the clock slowing down or is it just me???

Two weeks and counting until we’re back on the salt.  The Harley Powered Streetluge has been rebuilt since the front intake valve decided to loose its head literally a few weeks ago during an exhibition run at 100+mph.  Both Powered Streetluges made their final trip to the dyno over the weekend with their salt flats gearing installed and both produced speeds well over our goals, Jenna’s is 130+mph and mine is 150+mph.

Does anyone have info on what fuels will be available on the salt flats for WoS 2009?

Same Fuels that are always at the event. Here is the website. They have just about any combination of fuel you could need.

Been to Speedweek twice - this is my first WOS.  Camping at the bend - I'd like to put some faces with some names.

C YA THERE!

Stop by my EZ Up at the exit from the pits and say hello.  Screen cloth and a banner that says WELCOME RACE FANS.  I'll have cool drinks.

Pit set up and inspections a week from tomorrow.  It's going to be great to see some long time friends again.  Hope everyone has an uneventful and safe trip.  The seven day forecast for Sunday the 12th, high of 87 and sunny.

Weather looks like it will hold in the upper eighties for the start of WoS ... lows in the high fifties to low sixties.
I'm looking around for some real wood to knock on.
Jim Burkdoll has been on the salt over the weekend checking courses and location for the pits.  They'll be much closer to the start than Speedweek if we do the usual layout.
Looking at several bus loads of high school students coming from up and down the Wasatch Front.  Todd Low from Utah Valley University (2 Club El Camino) has been getting the word out.  Doing some chumming for his automotive programs.

As some of you know the Powered Streetluge Team is heading back to the World Famous Bonneville Salt Flats for the World of Speed event.

Jenna’s goal on her new 200cc Powered Streetluge is to get her 130mph certificate by making two passed at over 130mph.

My goal is to get my 150mph certificate by making two passed at over 150mph on the 1200cc Harley Powered Streetluge.

I have setup a Team Blog that you can monitor in the Powered Streetluge website.

We’ll be updating as things happen Live from the Salt Flats.

The Team’s goal is to have a great time.

Hope to meet some of you guys on the salt...we had to scrap the Stude project, but we're bringing out a 2100cc VW to run the 130 Club.

Fred, I'm seeing partly cloudy and a high of 81 on my 5 day forecast, with no mention of the unmentionable.

Let's go with mine. 8-)

Looks like the kind of forecast that has a higher chance of precipitation (you notice I don't use the nasty r word)
over the mountains east of Salt Lake City.
