4PM  Course is shut down -- incident at Mile 1.  Rider being moved into ambulance as the announcer talks.  Will get you a name and number as soon as possible.  I apologize -- didn't recognize the name as the announcer read it off.

Bike 1018  rider being evacuated to medical facility.  Mountain course is closed 'til course sweep, both courses closed during incident.  Rider's first name is Rob -- waiting for last name still.

1737? I'm not seeing it?   :?

NO STREAMLINING behind the Vetical line of axel, lower then top of the rear tire... The number plate is an aero device.

JonAmo

OK. We don't know the actual size of the number plate but assuming it was legal required size where should it be placed? In front of the shock could easily be covered by the riders leg and not legal. Where's the proper place to put it on that bike?

On the fuel tank, below the fuel tank, by the clutch cover... Basically ANYWHERE its not illegal and provides an aero advantage...

Best wishes Rob..

It's so hazy right now that we can barely see Floating Mountain.  Looking east -- towards the interstate -- it looks like a science fiction movie set -- you can't see the end of the world.  88 degrees.  Internat'l course now open again.

Bike 1199 on the int'l course -- Jeff Tobey.

He's at the 2 mile, ran 174.9 earlier today.

Wind about 5-8 from the north.

At the 4 mile -- under power, good speed built up -- in the mneasured mile.  177.1mph

Hmmm.. see I have trouble visualizing where that number plate could go and be legal while not causing a potential safety issue for the rider. Seems anyplace on that bike that would not cause a safety issue would then be an aerodynamic advantage...   that's a "normal" mounting position, I wouldn't contest it as long as I could do the same.
