Barry Bryant
« on: August 10, 2009, 01:07:11 PM »
From the SCTA website:

"Officials of the Bonneville Nationals Inc. report that Barry Bryant, 46, from Anderson, California, died after competing at the speed trials on the Bonneville Salt Flats."

"The accident occurred at 5:55 p.m. when his racing vehicle went out of control while traveling approximately 200 mph. He was transported by ambulance off the race track to Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Race Officials were informed that Bryant died before arriving at the Medical Center."

My thoughts and prayers are with the Bryant Family. God speed Barry.

I was at my pit when he went by at speed. The car as always sounded awesome and his speed was up there. We didn't know anything until the ambulance went by use code three.
I have known Tom for several years and met his sons over those same years. A huge loss to our racing community. God Speed Barry and may God's compfort be with Tom and the rest of that wonderful family.

We were at the Bend In The Road getting ready for the Salt Talks when an ambulance went by Code 3. I was sorry to hear about the accident and didn't find out about Barry until talking to Wes the next morning. My sincere condolences to the Bryant family.

So sad to hear the news!

I had just arrived at the Bend for Salt Talks when the word got passed around and the emergency equipment came by.
As always we hoped for the best and I am saddened to hear of the families loss.

My deepest sympathies to the family and close friends. I had not had the pleasure of meeting the Bryant family, although over the last few years I always looked for the car each time I was on the salt.
