Track fuel equivalent

Hello all

I am headed for the dyno . And I have a question about the track fuel . I usually run in the  GAS class . I know the Shell 100/104 and leaded 110 and 114 leaded is what is sold .
I want to test with an equivalent VP fuel . Or purchase shell fuel in a small quantity . I can only find large drums so far.
So should I see what octane the engine runs best at using VP then buy the same Octane when I get to the track? Is it that simple?

Afraid not. Every fuel will tune a bit differently, even 'equivalent' fuels across brands with the same octane. Call VP and explain what you are doing and they can help you, but you will still need to make adjustments at the track for the new fuel. Not a huge issue unless you are tuned on the edge for a wicked NA motor. -Dean

At ECTA  this years fuel is not SUNOCO  like last year... They are using ROCKET  race Gas now,,,

It works good too.....

Call or go on line and get Rockets data sheets and then if you can't dyno with rocket,, let VP reccomend as close as possible mixture..
