Newbie has a question
« on: August 06, 2009, 12:17:36 AM »
How many classes are there? Where is the list etc. There seems to be such a wide range of different stuff how do you know what it falls under. How does a new guy start up etc? Im sure you have to prove yourself etc. I have a 72 r5 yamaha 2 stroke that id love to run but im not sure on any class it would qualify for.

Loring ran ECTA rules.

Get a copy of the ECTA rulebook. study it, and you will be able to find the answers to a lot of your questions.

Be forewarned - interest can lead to addiction.........but it is a fun addiction!

there is a class for the bike ... I guess that it would probably fall into M/G350/2 ... incidentally, the rule book shows the record at 133 for Maxton ... Probably open record at Loring ... Joe

You can also run TO time only for a 1st time out if you like.  No class or records, but you see where you stand.
2006 Kawasaki ZX-6rr (Worlds Fastest standing mile and 1.5 mile)
2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R (4 200 MPH Clubs)
2008 Kawasaki EX-250R (Multiple ECTA and LTA records)
131 Land Speed Records set since 2008
125 Land Speed Racing records (including 3 Worlds Fastest Speeds) set since 2008.

I am not a m/c guy, I do beleive there is a rotary m/c class though. Best bet is to get a rules and record book and read it over and over again and again and again...

Any body out there get any vidio of my blue '67 Brick (Chevelle) @ LORING?

What?  Do my tired eyes decieve me?  A post from the one, the only -- Scott Griswold?  Wow, what's this world coming to?

Hodwy, Scott.  It's good to see you on this Forum.  Don't be a stranger -- or at least, don't be any stranger than you already are.

Okay -- ebnough hassling you.  Welcome, Scott.  I have no doubt we'll find one another out here on the Salt, but just in case -- come find us.

See you soon.

I believe the Time Only (T/O) category is for cars only.
I could not find anything in the rule book like that under the motorcycle categories ...

72tx340-- the only folks you have prove yourself to are the tech inspectors and they are there to help. There's a good chance that you have never met a group of people friendlier, more willing to help each other or more fun to be around.
