License speed?
« on: August 03, 2009, 12:03:38 AM »
Does the 2.25 mph work for licensing speed?

In other words, if I'm trying to license 175-200, and I get to the 2.25 and shut down on the short course, can that mph be used to license?

I want to shut down at the 2.25 on the first pass so we can check everything out before continuing.

Yes, in order to qualify for the long course you need to go 175 in the 1/4.

sparkey  dont turn off at the 1   LOL                  willie buchta

I understand that they will have a timing trap at the 1 mile to the 2 mile on the special course but it would be a good question to ask at the drivers meeting to verify that the 1st mile times are Ok for license and long course upgrades.

Willie, I've heard that there will be two short courses, one of which is called the "special" course.  It's called that to help reduce confusion so we don't have to figure out "About which short course is the announcer talking?"  The two courses are the same (I think) -- just assigned different names.

John, I have an e-mail from Mike Manghelli that guarantees that the time in the first MEASURED mlle of the special course will qualify for a record. You will get a timing slip that starts one mile from ZERO and terminates with mile marker 2. You do not have to run 3 miles to get a timing slip but you can if you want to.

MAYBE this clears it up.

Willie --

Both short courses will have a "Quarter Mile" trap, too,  from the 2 to the 2-1/4.

Thanks all.

What I'm curious about is a slip like this:

1-2 mile = 165 mph
2.25 mile = 190 mph
2-3 mile = 70 mph

Does that fulfill the req of a 175 to 200 pass for B license?

If that slip works, then I can take my time getting up to speed.  If it doesn't, I need to get aggressive early.
