I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Track record was set by Shane Stubbs on Scott Guthrie's turbo Busa at 260.990  Dean Sabatinelli went 245 on a turbo 1000 Kawasaki. Steve Knecum went 248 on a naked turbo Busa and 235 on a faired nitrous Busa. Mark DeLuca went 237.7 on an all motor Busa. Needless to say conditions were outstanding with everyone posting by far their best speeds ever. Strong tailwind and near sea level high oxygen content foliage made this possible. Congrats to all. Sorry I don't know about the cars.   Larry

Whoa!!! 245 with a 1,000 cc motor?  That's stout!  Congratulations, Dean.  Good on you to Knecum and DeLuca and Stubbs, too.  I guess this answers the question about whether the bikes needed more room to gain a full head of speed.  Especially that 1000 bike.  Dang, that's fast.

Was the Nitrous bike that Steve road and the All motor bike that Mark rode the same bike?

The Gustafson Corvette had 5 different drivers with a top speed of 194.

Does anyone have times for the cars?

Different bike John; Steve rode Big Blue which was last years Maxton N/A record holder. It will now run as a dedicated NO2 bike with a wet system next year.   L

Larry,

Thanks for the info..I was wondering if it was the same bike with just a "touch" of Juice since Steve went slower on Nitrous than Mark all motor.

When Steve and Mark get back get some pictures posted...like I told Deb, we are jonesing for info...

Congratulations to everyone on a successful weekend!  Thanks to Bob, Joe, and Donna for making this happen.  I have to take this opportunity to thank Sal Spatafora for the AWESOME ACE PERFORMANCE power that allowed us to become the world's fastest NA 650cc motorcycle, with a pass of 190.118 mph.  The ZX-6RR ran flawlessly.  Also, a special thanks to Phil Campbell for his support this weekend and Congratulations to him for being the FIRST in the LTA 200 club and his 235 mph pass.  It was a spectacular weekend and our successful weekend will make the long drive home seem much shorter.  See you in Sept. at Maxton.

2008 Kawasaki ZX-10R (4 200 MPH Clubs)
2008 Kawasaki EX-250R (Multiple ECTA and LTA records)
