We were wondering the same thing. Got the letter from Heather and she just said he had an accident at his shop. Hope he is ok.

Chauvin's roadster was sitting at the timing tower with the family and crew at the driver's meeting. In his honor after the national anthem his son fired that hot rod up. Brought tears to my eyes thinking of all those years watching that awesome guy run his very fast roadster. We all miss him,

That was a moment when they fired his car after the drivers meeting very moving.  I am sure Chauvin was watching.

To those of you who were concerned with my Brothers heart attack a couple of days ago:  Rick had an implant of a Stent and now is home in Medford, Ore. resting, recuperating and rehabilitating comfortably.  He should be as good as new (?) in a couple of weeks.  I appreciate your kindness, concern, and prayers.  Sorry I had to leave Speed Week early and not get to meet some of the people I wanted to, but I will get around  to seeing you all again soon!  If I don't see you at a meet or show during the comeing year I will be at the bend in the road, and The Old Crow pits again next year!   Again, thank you all again!   With love,   Crow.

Does anyone know what happened to Chauvin?

Chauvin broke his leg and went to the hospital.  The hospital was very busy and put him in a room to wait for a doctor.  He and his wife (sharon) waited a long time and then Chauvin finally told Sharon to go home and get some rest and that he would come home in the morning with a cast on his leg.  The next morning Sharon was called to the hospital because Chauvin was in a coma.  He died.  It seems that the hospital forgot all about him and complications of neglect caused his death.  I believe a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs).
