Per the TARGET550 website -- the streamliner is in Australia and going through customs as of yesterday.

Latest updates posted: http://www.target550.com/news.html

Note: The team is also looking for a photographer to assist.  Needs to be able to be "Freud approved".  More details on the website.

Marlo commented that they are going into a black hole  , there is a phone at the DLRA camp 8 miles back from the lake .  08 8648 1818 .   Like motel rooms in Wendover dont expect people to answer during racing hours , ring and be prepared to leave a message for your guys to call back . Mount Ive homestead office is  08 8648 1817.

08 prefix is an australian area code then the number .  No cell coverage .landline only .

Does anybody know did they seek prior approval to run DLRA since they don't meet the rules?

It's my understanding that the DLRA guys tend to defer to SCTA-BNI rules.  In fact, the DLRA rulebook is essentially a cut-and-paste of the SCTA book.

Now that said, the DLRA clearly has the right to make their own exceptions and judgement calls.

I'm assuming SCTA-BNI gave them permission to use it, or they never would have been able to test.

What steering? At 42' long with (if memory serves) 6 degrees of steering, it would probably take two miles to make a u-turn... O.R.B., out.................................
