Speed Week 2013

Things I don't want to do:

Forget my sunglasses.

Chase my hat when the 50 MPH gust plucks it off my skull.

Forget to put the tent down when I leave.

Drive thru slushy salt all week.

Pull in the wrong line at Lands End.

Forget my gift for Lands End Lynda.

Fail to pay my annual dues at The Kilo Klub.

Lock the keys in my renter.

Get 86ed at the Klub.

Announce that for “reasons beyond their control”

the Treit and Davenport Target 550 streamliner won't be at Speed Week.

It is now planned to run during World of Speed 2013.

Doo Do happens.

Bummer !
Was hoping to catch pictures of its first runs on the salt.

Keeping fingers crossed they can stretch its legs at the shoot out.

At this late hour, what was the difficulty?

Instead of 10 days, we can wait 38 . . .

Must . . . kill . . . something . . .
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

FREUD.

I think if it's read the way it's written the car will be there. Just a guess, knowing who wrote the piece. I hope I'm right Freud!

Peter.....go to the corner of the room and turn your chair to face the wall.

Your answer was incorrect.

The car won't be there and the goal now is World of Speed.

I am going to see Marlo Friday and before I leave to come home I will fill in the details.

I want to THANK all of you for expressing your concern and disappointment.

We know of the publics interest and after all of these years we can't get disappointed.

We just have to be plan for the next event.

As it is now, that will be World of Speed.

hotrod if it runs at WoS it will probably be at the Shoot Out.

Fred, I'll do the explaining either Friday nite or Saturday AM.

Dr G.... How did the word pity find a way into your vocabulary.

Pity as in pity party....ya...........pity doesn't exist in racing.

Doc,

I have waited 14 years for this moment. What is another 28 days in the big picture. I will be at WOS to watch this car run. If I can be of any help please let me know. This is one of my favorite cars, and I would not miss its maiden voyage for anything. A tip of my hat to Marlo, Jim H., Les D., You, Rat, and the whole crew. Thank you for bringing such an exciting car to LSR.

I have not been this excited about a car since the Burkland's liner debuted. Which I am hoping to see run again soon.

Doc:

The Target 550 liner is like a fine wine or bourbon.... it will be ready when it is ready. But when it IS ready it is worth the wait.

I read it like Pete, so no explanation needed Freud. Dammit I hate it when I am wrong, especially about this.
