What have we discussed the most on this build diary?

The tail section panels. Well we are doing it again.

Have a look and see why.

Off-topic: I finally realized why "Freud" had a familiar ring to it- as I looked back at a 1971 (or '72?) Bonneville-coverage article in Cycle Magazine! Do you still write for any print media?

I am certain that the people who follow this build diary are as tired of seeing this tail section as I am of posting it.

Freud's a really bright guy, but he certainly doesn't understand LSR junkies. I need a FIX! I need it NOW! Post them pictures again and again.

The real horror comes when the job is complete and we only get the mundane shots of the car going 500 mph. How boring.  :-o
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Jack I haven't had anything published for a long time. I am still in touch with the staff of CYCLE but I haven't

cultivated any other magazines to submit to. Both Cook Neilson and Phil Shilling have been inducted into

the AMA Hall of Fame and I attended those functions. A little over a year ago we all met at Barber Motorsport

Raceway for a big Ducati get together and 5 years ago 40 people that were on the staff of CYCLE had a

reunion in Santa Barbara. Ducati sent one of the New Blue Ducatis so Phil could see it. His health wasn't

too good at that time. He is much better now. It was really something to share with that group. My first major

contribution to journalism was the cover of the December 1969 CYCLE. It was the 3 Harleys that ran very

well during Speed Week. Leo Paynes "Turnip Eater" was the first open wheel bike to set a record above 200 MPH.

Cook took the film to NYC and 6 days later he called to tell me that my stuff would be used.

So the mistakes I made as far back as 1970 are still possible to view in those publications. I just can't get

away with anything.

Haha! Those engines sound great!
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

Thanks for the reply, Freud. My favorite tech writer for many years now is Kevin Cameron. Did you see his recent in-depth description of the Guzzi 500 V8? I learned much more about its fascinating engineering than I had from a number of earlier articles.

Jack I haven't seen Kevin's article. Between the banquet and Target550 website I don't have much time

to even do the "honey does" let alone read motorcycle magazines.

About the only times I ever saw Kevin was at Daytona or some big motorcycle road race.
