Freud, you being the most iconic and beloved member of this web sight could do the world of land speed racing a service of unmeasurable good. You being a Doctor could challenge Dr. Goggles to replicate your famous naked Triumph photo.
Short of putting a man on the moon, this would rank as the all time Aussie achievement.
Freud, the value of the good natured encouragement you lend to all who post on here as well as your continuing updates on Target 550 are a true gift. Thanks G.J.

Bob Harris got bumped to Post 201.

He couldn't compete with the Target550.com  Christmas Greeting.

I will have to Photoshop every image of Bob in the post.

His wife didn't recognize him in Post 199.

It seems to me she should key on him immediately.

Sorry Bob.

Here is the latest post:  http://www.target550.com/gallery/201_injector_setup_egt_probes/index.html

All of these fotos were done before the engines were started.

Have at it.

I've worked my fingers to the bone preparing late year posts.

Ray the Rat has been staying up late to post them.

We've done it again.

Have a look at this:http://www.target550.com/gallery/202_wiring_ignition_install_fuel_system/index.html

Who Nose.......there may still be another one before New Years.

Don't desert us now. I'm just learning to swim.

Thanks Glenn.

I may have missed this important item in past posts, but I am sure glad to see the PSI rev-limiter being installed between the Mag and the base. I always wondered if a rev-limiter would be used, now I know.

I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

I am still a newbie to the salt, went to the salt for the first time 3 years ago. I am currently just a spectator although I did get the chance to help out Ray The Rat at World of Speed last year.  I also had the pleasure of meeting Dickey and Korey at that time.  As an old aircraft sheet metal mechanic I am envious of the level of workmanship that has gone into this car, it's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.  I am not sure that any other group of people could have pulled this off. I can't wait for the opportunity to hear those 2 hemis rumbling and see the car. If testing is open to the public and close enough I hope to be there.  A late Merry Christmas and best wishes for an unforgetable 2013.

We will post the testing schedule when we know when and where.

Thanks for you comments. They are appreciated.

Thanks for assisting RtR. He is very important in presenting this build diary.

Without him it would be a dead player.

FeRD, have you tried to convince Marlo that the first test run should be the Saturday of the NW Reunion?  Can is use the runway at Aurora or is he afraid the FBI will run over the liner too.

There are too many players involved for me to suggest anything. I'll just keep my ears

down on the railroad track and try to avoid getting tomato canned by the oncoming train.

I like the way you think.

ATTENTION:

Several weeks ago when Les Davenport and Bob Harris came to Treit's shop to work on the 'liner

one of the goals was to start and run the engines. The ignition and fuel systems had to be connected.

Many other small tasks that were not part of Hume's build were taken care of.

Then it happened.

Les announced that the engines would be started on Propane and then switched over to run on alky.

After the initial shock wore off the Propane bottle was attached, the alky was plumbed in and the starter

whirred. It fired immediately the switch over was made and the engine ran somewhat above an idle.

The second engine received the same treatment and another step in the life of Target550 had been accomplished.

So Ray Therat has taken the video that Bob Harris filmed with his i-Pad and made two short movies.

They are on U-Tube.

Here is the url:  http://www.target550.com/gallery/204_startup_videos/index.html

We hope you enjoy this as much as they enjoyed firing them up.

Thanks Bob Harris and Ray Therat.
