I finally finished the largest post that we have ever done.

It relates to the wheel fairings.

Since there was frequently time that that went slow I just saved

the images and have now posted them. The  change in ground

clearance really caused a lot to be done differently than was first

figured.

But.......they are now done. So are the composite pieces. The fairings

won't even be used during the testing so we can keep them for Show and Tell.

Just know that several very talented men spent a lot of time to achieve the

finished product.

Here is the url:   http://www.target550.com/gallery/195_rear_wheel_fairings/index.html

Mom Bear just returned from her trip to the 7-11 and she awaken me

when she pulled the snow block back in the opening of the cave.

I'll get to work on a post for the car in a few minutes.

We will have a post before Sunday night.

Gotta find the matches to light the whale oil lamp.

Wow, Freud.  You guys are going to be afraid to race it and crash after all the work you have done.  That car is art.

It's not that long until it's a runner.

Testing is scheduled for early 2013.

I'll let everyone know.

I'm in Everett, WA and the car is in Aurora, Or. That means that I missed the

first 'fire up". I really wanted video of that. I am going back there this weekend.

Maybe I can get a repeat performance while I am there.

I'll try.

I can't wait for this piece of art to run. Let us know the "When and Wheres" if possible. I want to be there.
Freud you've done an excellent job of documenting this build! Thank you.

Hmmm.  I'm tempted to make the trip to Aurora myself if the "repeat performance" could be arranged.  What the hell?  It's only 800 miles one way.   :-D  Now if I had a 450+ hp Camaro, I might be able to get there in under the 11 hours that Google maps suggests.   :-o

I've gotta thread/jack for just a minute.  Ray, you mention that Google Maps says it's 11 hours for the trip.  I use MapQuest, not GM.  but -- is there a way on either of those - or any other mapping/route planning site that allows the user to enter realistic estimates of what speed he'll go?  I know how fast I average on a trip - and I'd prefer to use my speed, not an assumption by whomever writes the program, to find out how long it'll take.  other variables would be nice to be user-programmed, too.  Thanks -- back to the 'liner.  PM or maybe, if you've got good information, we'll start a new thread.

Quick answer: not that I know of.  Maybe someone else with more experience in that area can help out with the question, but I've never seen anything that allows detailed variables to be entered.

Microsoft's Streets and Trips allows for changes in gas mileage.

I don't know if they also have a variable speed.

Might give it a check.

I've always figured I'd get there just about the time I arrive.  Been working for me.
