Is there an interlock to prevent the canopy from opening at speed?
I picture reaching for the chutes or fire bottles in an emergency and opening the canopy.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

That's a good question.  I'll have to wait until Freud gets back home (he otta be on his flight by now) to ask him.

I think the canopy has a manual release only at the rear of it. It has to be able to be opened outside by the emergency crews. The air cylinders are for lift assist and to keep it open.

Just above the drivers head is a short lever that pulls the pin out of the hole in the roll bar.

It can be opened from inside or outside. The duct that lets some air into the cockpit has

the outside release at the top of it.

I'll look for a foto and put it in here but it will be a day or two before I do that. I've been

gone for a week and there are a few things that need attention besides this build diary.

Freud -- here is what you are looking for.  It's just aft of the NACA duct in the canopy overhead.  You can see the inside handle -- as well as outside handle flush with bodywork.

Treit and Davenport will NOT be attending the Mojave Mile.

We appreciate the interest that many of you have shown but

some of the things that were learned on the trip to Bonneville

are being attended to. The trailer that we thought was bullet proof

needed some attention. As that is being fixed the car remains at

Humes and he is still putting his touch on some unfinished items.

As soon as any information is available about testing it will be

announced so any of you that are interested can make plans to

share the tests.

Wish I could have announced this sooner as a better help for your planning.

As soon as any new info is available it will be posted here, on Facebook and

probably on chevyasylum.com.

Ok, if the canopy switch was accidentally flipped would it make it harder to open the latch?

This would not be something you could call "good."  We'll go to great lengths to avoid it.
