Fair question. What is the spare parts answer?
I'm pretty sure it far excess the cardboard box I drag with me. :-D :|
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Thanks for the answer about Marlo, Bob. I had already looked at the member list and hadn't found anything. Since I don't know Marlo (or his age), I just wanted to ask whether he might be the same "Treit" whose twin-Triumph ran Bonneville (1959 I believe).

The photo of my lakester is from 2008 when Ron Richardson (prior owner) ran BNI.

Yes the spare parts question will be interesting.......

I was talking with Marlo a few years ago about some of the construction points on the car. One he mentioned was that the car had 3 jack shafts for the driveline, all three were the same so only one spare would be needed or at least the spares would all be the same!
As you can tell lots of thought went into the build.

Marlo was invited to run his twin Triumph years ago at Speed Week.

From "Cycles That Scream on the Salt" in Jul'60 Hot Rod Magazine. I believe the photo is from '59 BNI.

Vinsky, sorry I can't help you on the Triumph question but I do have a short video of Marlo about to make a pass at (I believe) Scapoose Drag Strip with that Thrust Dragster.
As with most of us Salt Freak's, Marlo's career started with Drag Racing and I believe he ran the twin Triumph at local strip's.
As far as spare part's, Marlo has a "parts trailer to carry spare parts and support equipment.
Unless he gets a much larger tow rig, I think that with a 53' steel trailer, the Streamliner, and Car Carrier, Oz's F-350 is probably about maxed out.
Amongst the spare parts are replaceable carbon fiber wheel fairings (using molds taken from Jim Humes hand crafted Alluminum originals).
The reason? A flat tire will destroy its fairing but hopefully nothing more........ hmmm, maybe they could add automaticly deploying ski's...............  hmmm......... let's see, their has to be room somewhere's..........  hmmm..........  Nope, it's all pretty much filled.
After all, it's only forty two feet long..........  Bob
Trent, what humor?  I only state facts from my memory or at least thats what I remember.

Update 188: http://www.target550.com/gallery/188_car&carrier_back_at_humes/index.html

It's on the server.  It shows the liner returning to the womb, so to speak.  It's back at Hume's shop for more attention.  There are quite a few shots of the car carrier showing that it's probably better suited for carrying the liner on the salt flats than in Hume's driveway.  The little issue with the speed brake has been addressed and there are some photos of the parachute release mechanisms.

I'm doin a thrash on my race car, so I busted my hump and got the post done quickly so I could get back to work.

Here are a couple of extra images that were done while the liner was at Speed Week to go along with the post.

Ray, I just wanted to give you a quick thanks for taking the time to do the pics and posts in between trying to get your own car ready. Its very appreciated! Good luck with the Monte Carlo!!!!

I just received an announcement from the management of the Treit and Davenport streamliner.

For the next nine days Ray Therat and aging old FREUD are on vacation.

There will be no post until September 14th.

Ray will run his car in the World Of Speed and I plan to go to the mountains and do some Spring cleaning

at the new Document Center acreage.

Someone stole the goats and so I will have to mow the yard and get the driveway ready for the first snow.

When we make the next post we will be able to bring everyone up to date regarding testing at Mojave Mile.

"We shall return."

Ah hear that white stuuuf falls from the sky!

Truly alien. Last time it snowed in LA (other than the dusting once a decade) was 1949.

You guys enjoy your time off.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.

Dean, I have a picture of our back yard in the snow back then. We were living in Lomita at the time.
