QUOTE
In the middle of Rizzy's "Is it time to go" she got excited when one of the open house visitors left in his supercharged Model A blue coupe by pulling a hole shot in front of the shop. He left in a cloud of smoke. That open her eyes just like it did at the NW Reunion when we toured that PT boat and they started up one of the engines.

The dude that left Hume's shop in a cloud of blue smoke was the fellow that pained the chassis of the 'liner.

With the engines in the chassis it feels like there is good progress.

Here is the url:  http://www.target550.com/gallery/182_engine_install_wheel_fairings_visitors/index.html

Enjoy.

Is Gorilla glue a 'go fast' secret? (photo 182_021) Should that be in every Bonneville tool box?

I have a hunch about what it's used for.  But I'll let Freud give the "horse's mouth" answer.

Hello Freud - -

I didn't know who he was. He left shortly after I arrived. I wish I could have met him and shook his hand. I do remember your pictures of him painting the frame right there in the shop. That also explains why Jim has a poster size picture of his blue Coupe on the shop wall. The picture shows him on the starting line at a drag strip doing the same smokey hole shot.

Still waiting to see the liner on the salt for another picture of Rizzy next to it. I heard it will be displayed on the salt for three days and then in a historic building for another three days.

See you on the salt.

A quote from RtR:  But I'll let Freud give the "horse's mouth" answer.

All I could do was belch.........I paid no attention to the can but I do not think that was the purpose.

I'll ask, find out and then add a comment.

I've ordered some burlap to use as a handkerchief in case they are spraying it when I am there.

That way I will be safe.

I just couldn't wait and I questioned the man with the can.

Jim needed to hold a small piece in place on the inside of the tail section and the GoRillar stick'em up-puckey was how he did it.

Later in the history of this diary there will be a question regarding this answer. Review it everytime you read the diary because it

will pop up when you are not expecting the need for recall.

Here's the Official Viewing Schedule.

The Treit & Davenport streamliner will be on display during Speed Week.

From 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM, Saturday August 11th, Sunday and Monday, it will be in the San Diego Roadster Club portion of the pits.

Jim Hume, Marlo Treit, Jason Hosking, Dickie Milne and Korey Bligh will also be there.

Arrangements are being made and it will be announced regarding showing in the evening at the airbase.

The car will be under cover in a 20' x 60' tent on the Salt.

We hope to see you there.

Bring your camera.

Freud:

That is great news. It will be a great experience to see up close and personal the Traget 550 Liner and the people responsible for its creation.

See you in a few weeks.

Gorilla Glue is wonderful stuff. If you want to glue anything it sets fast and holds. It is a polyurethane glue. When exposed to moisture the adhesive reacts and creates a foaming action that fills voids as it cures.

I bought it to glue high density foam for a mold. The important thing is that when the glue cures it has the same density and sands just like the foam.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.
