We traded the cold and rain to subject ourselves to the torture of unfiltered sun and warmth.

Several days in Palm Springs trumps the challenging weather of the Pacific Northwest.

I'll be punching the time clock next week.

Glen, someday soon you need to post a tribute to your wonderful wife, whom although I have never had the privelage of meeting, must be one hell of a woman just to put up with, and allow you to follow all of your fantasy's of racing, photography and hanging with all the down and out racers (as opposed to the rich and famous that anyone in their right mind would gravitate towards).
If you are not currently lavishing her with Rose petals and Champagne, you are a fool..

Ferd --

Did you mark an "X" on the right building and carry it with you the rest of your stay?

Stan, I bought a new "smart" phone. It has a GPS in it and I can now find my way back to the room.

But I lost the cork screw and can't open the wine.

Vacation is on hold until that can be replaced.

I'm cornfused, Freud.  Wine doesn't need a corkscrew -- it needs a box cutter to open, doesn't it?

Slim to really enjoy box wine, poke a hole in the bag, insert a curly straw and suck away.

The point on the corkscrew is the key to everything that can give one a head ache.

Just don't get one with a left hand thread.

If you do, you will get unscrewed.

Bob, spent the 4th with Freud and Doris a couple of years ago... I assure you she is up to the task she has endured for 50 years or so... although the cops showed up, it was not Freud's fault, really, I swear.
RatP, it is widely known that Freud has grown older but failed to grow up... He will never require a second childhood!
I will let Freud tell you the story in person at the salt talks this year.  I can tell you that the pace car was driven by a famous racer and the picture was taken by another famous racer.  As it was the only image available of Freuds racing career it appeared on the shirt.
The rest is history

Freud, old buddy, it's not too late to start that book about your life. Really.

Gene Winfield signed my copy of his book "The Legendary Custom Cars and Hot Rods of Gene Winfield".

If he can write one, so can you. Heck, he's older than you!
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Meanwhile, back on topic, the promised Post 164 is on the server:
http://www.target550.com/gallery/164_canopy_&_farings/index.html

Some pretty kool stuff.  Here's the post caption:
Canopy, latch, body skins, wheel fairings and a plastic-covered corridor right outta ET.

Here are a coupla shots.

Part of the rear wheel fairing assembly:

Jason working on part of that same stuff, while wearing a SALT TALKS T-SHIRT.  (If you have some art for the shirt, send it to me asap!)

Enjoy.

Btw, (now back to yer regularly scheduled off-topic posting) instead of wrassling with a corkscrew, I fought with the rear shocks on my beater Camaro.  One lousy bolt left (one side's done, the lower bolt on the left side is fighting me for grip) and it whipped me yesterday.  But today's another day.  I better get it done before the lousy weather rolls in.

Don't believe the song It Never Rains in Southern California.

Beautiful San Diego, with it's Chamber of Commerce weather, is 49F at 6:00PM and the wipers are on 80% speed.

LOVELY..........

Gee Freud, If you are in San Diego, you should stop by the Taylor guitar factory and see some cool stuff.  It is sunny today, but a bit cold we must have had the rain, hail, and snow to make you feel at home! :-D

Keep the pics coming, I need my weekly updates....
