He was the only one on the street who had a 600 amp three phase 480 volt power available and running to his garage.

Those fools that make houses for women. A real house for men would be a one bedroom house with a seven car garage. Well, those extra bedrooms do come in handy for parts storage.

If you have never had an engine stand with engine attached in the dining room then you are not getting the full usage out of the house.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.

I had the boring bar, engine stand, made of 2 x 4's, in the dining room. Mom didn't know it until I started to bore the block.  circa 1951

Doc,

Great story on Mike Swickard. Sorry he left us so early, but nice to hear about his contributions to the build, and what a great machinist he was.

Thanks,

Tom G.

I told my Realtor that I was looking for a large garage with a house attached.

You are right something like a studio apartment attached to the garage with a large storage room in the back would be ideal.

What are you guys talking about. A house is not nearly big enough. What you need to look for is a Very Large Barn with living quarters above, and an Elevator for when you get old and cannot walk up steps. LOL. I am laughing but that is exactly what I am looking for NOW. That way you can have your Machine shop, Chassis shop, Welding shop, Engine Room, Car assembly room, Storage, and truck and trailer parking all under one roof.

I think an old 2 room schoolhouse with another shop out back within a days drive of the salt is ideal.  :-D (not mine  :-( )

Freud, Ray, keep up the good work. :)
Just happy to be here. :-D

The Los Angeles Times answered this perfectly.
Long time members of the Mustang Owners Club of California and the Mustang Club of America, Molly and Stan Hyman rebuilt their house after the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
Or should I say they built a garage and attached a house to it.

A good friend of mine, who, straying back to topicality, has known Marlo since the early days of the Coachman C.C. (whatever happened to the '56 sedan delivery with the beer tap in the dash?  ), when confronted with a divorce that left him without a house, went to the city of Portland to see what he would have to do to build an apartment in his nice old brick building (containing an automotive business) in the inner industrial section of town.  When they requested $30k for a feasibility study (with no guarantees on results), he gave up that idea.

It's a cold, cruel world.

Is there any forgiveness in this crowd?

I pulled myself away from the humming bird nest (www.phoebeallens.com) long enough to do this post.

http://www.target550.com/gallery/94_its_so_simple/index.html

Have a look at a small water connection on the left cyl head of the front engine. Now that it's done, the rear should be simple.

I said   SHOULD BE SIMPLE.

I hope u enjoy a glimpse into craftshmaship in action.

If this is boring, go to www.phoebeallens.com and see Mother Nature at her very best. But u better hurry. It could be only 50% tomorrow.

Do I usually steer u wrong? Not this time either.
