Dean, Ray Therat is contemplating a spreadsheet with bar codes and a tracking system when it's time for teardown.

That would also allow us to track any parts that were sent out for finishing.

I suggested that in complex areas we use a video camera and download that to the computer if any question needs to be answered.

This may sound like overkill but not if it eliminates a reassembly problem.

I CERTAINLY appreciate the suggestion of DOCUMENTATION. That can not be overdone.

But this discussion is rather like talking about what we are going to do when the baby is born and she's only practicing getting pregnant.

Thanks for participating and warning us.

It's alive!

http://www.target550.com/gallery/82_lost_focus/index.html

Considerably different is a good way to put it...but very interesting.  I'm reminded of the old song, "She Blinded Me With Science": "All my tubes and wires...she's tidied up and I cant FIND anything!"  Well, he found a lotta stuff to photograph.  You'll like it.

Well worn handles attached to no doubt well worn files.

Dykem Steel Blue - How did mankind ever live without it. They give the Nobel prizes to the wrong people.

A can of Energine Cleaning Fluid on top of the shelf. Discontinued because of the Naptha inside.

Cool stuff indeed.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Since it's between Christmas and New Years, I'm gonna rattle Rat Therat and see if he will

help me post a few more images before the first of the year. Keep watching.

Freud did just what he said he would.  He sent me some images and I put 'em on the server:
http://www.target550.com/gallery/83_first_trip_to_the_wind_tunnel/index.html

They're photos of the first trip to the wind tunnel and a comparison of the Treit and Davenport liner with a model of the Ken Walkey liner.  You can draw your own conclusions about the aerodynamics from the photos.  I don't know nuttin about aero stuff.  But it's an interesting group of photos.  I guess the proof will be seen on the salt.

Ray, you disappoint me.  All along I've thought that you knew a lot about aerodynamics -- and had used your knowledge to decide how to wear your hair.  Now I'm bummed - another styling cue shot down.

The shaved head just makes it easier to get into a helmet.  :)  Besides...I save money on shampoo.

He checks his aero by sticking his head out the window of the Burb when he's on the freeway.

If he can't breath he nos he's in a low pressure area.

Poor man's wind tunnel.

If the car speeds up he nos he's a good package.

Frued --

How'd you come by Ken's model.  Same scale, right?
