Broadcast/communication?
« on: July 20, 2009, 07:45:01 PM »
Rather than start another new thread, I think this can fit into the "safety" part of this thread.  I've read all the posts, and I can't remember this subject having been covered already.  If it has, please give me a break, I'm a senior citizen.

What about radio?  Will we be using CB?  Will race results be broadcast on local low-power FM?

I split this out & changed the subject cause I'd like to know too!
Will there be announcements?
Will they be made via CB or radio or ?
Will the speeds be broadcast?
If so how/where?

Thanks!
Debbie

De-Borah and DJ,
We are sorting this radio/public announcement stuff out, hopefully have an answer by tomw night.
All those things ya think you were ready for happened the last two days and we weren't ready. Can't elaborate, will spill my guts for Beer after the event, to a few of you.

Beer has been bought - is in a plain brown paper bag (not sure 'bout them yankee blue laws) - and is already loaded in trailer.

No blue laws here. Beer should be available locally every day. Stores may just close earlier than you are used to.

Regarding "Blue Laws", is there not a drinking in public law up there ?
We had some thoughts on running our Salt Talks-Like thingie on the Runway or maybe the Caribou In Parking lot, were told there were local laws prohibitive of that stuff ? Mainers reply here ,please.

I would not do that in the Caribou parking lot. It may be fine on the runway as it is not public per say. It could vary from town to town you will have to check.
