Bobby the other one
« on: July 17, 2009, 08:25:58 PM »
Hello everyone, Bobby Jepson, co-conspirator with Bwana checking in. Bwana somehow managed to block me from getting on the Forum, but I figured a new tactic and got here.
Anyway, kudos to Jon W. and Joe and Donna especially, without them even the unsinkable Mr. Wanner would have had difficulty getting this thing off the ground!
But this is Bwana's deal especially, so if thing's don't go as well as you might like, he's your man!
There are a fair number of computer illiterate New Englanders that will show with cars! Myself and a real hot-rodder Carter Lloyd will be there with new cars, mine a 27 and his a 29 roadster, both powered by turboed 4 bangers (no darn room in these puny cars). I don't know about Carter, but this laptop thing is new to me, so try not to laugh when I melt my pistons.
Bunch of experianced New England racers will be there too.
Attendance will be GREAT! I'm getting a few pre-regs a day.
I don't think I should talk up the Loring experiance too much, hell it might rain, but with any luck I think you'll really like the whole deal up there in Aroostook County. Not that I know Wisconsin well, but it reminds me of there, not deep forests rather rolling fields most often. Green, real green. 'Taters all over. Streams and lakes, American cars everywhere, btw, hardly any foreign ('cept Bwana's). Nice people, no crowds or traffic (winters' the big snowmobile-tourist season). County fair concurrent with our Loring event too.
So good luck to us all and we'll see you in two weeks. Any Logworks or Accel guys out there, come over and tell me what to do, really. Thanks, Bobby the Other

I did.  Does that mean something bad?  Or maybe I didn't understand -- is that even worse?

So, anyway, Bobby -- welcome to the Forum.  It's always a pleasure to have new blood here, even if it's someone that knows B. Wanner.  We welcome all.

Best wishes to you both at Loring.  Best wishes to everyone, for that matter.

After a couple re-reads I think I'm gettin' a grasp -yrs truly was so initially confused I forgot the word billion after 6.5+ in my post.  It kinda read like Jack Kerouac's stuff. Stream of conciousness.

Hope Loring's a great event -with enthusiasm like that of the other Bobby -or correctly - Bobby the other, it can't fail.

It's an accent thing.  Bob Wanner = b.wanner = bwana.  After Sunday chuch, they get the kah out of the gahzh and go play gahf.

If it's racin', I dig it.

If it's an inside deal.........I don't dig it.

I don't understand that jiberish. East coast beyond West coast?  Maybe.

I'm certain there is a limited audience on Landracing.Com that gets the message.

Maybe six years of college doesn't prepare me for street talk.

Tell me I'm wrong and I'll apologize.

Ricky Craven? Hmm...no, I don't think I saw his pre-reg.
Bob Wanner and I have been on this almost two years now, and on the Bonneville list alot longer than that, so I guess what I wrote came across as insider-speak. That's nothing, when you hear me talk, you probably won't understand me at all...Boston-bred Bobby J.

Have no fear Bobby, at least one of us will understand.  Even though I live in Texas, I was born and raised in Massachusetts!

Yeah, I get that a lot.   :-D

I figure that I'm a true Texan......like Sam Houston, Boone and Crockett.  Texan by choice, not by accident of birth.  LoL
