It sure wouldn't be worthless to set a record with a production engine.  My comment was that you'd have a difficult time running a production engine in a class where engines may be more highly modified than what's allowed in production.

There is nothing "worthless" in any accomplishment on the salt.  The feat itself will pale in comparison to the experiences and the memories of the event, not to mention the grind of the build...

The only thing more fun than building them is riding them, and that wouldn't be nearly as much fun if it was on something that someone else had built. Nothing beats the feeling that you get when your own hard work pays off.
Ah, this is obviously some strange usage of the word 'safe' that I wasn't previously aware of.  Douglas Adams

Really, we're just taking what we have and doing the best we can with it. That's the challenge we've set for our selves, and we're darn sure going to have a good time doing it. :-D

My sentiments exactly.  It doesn't matter if you are going 120 - 220 - or 360, if you are making your machine go faster then any other just like it, and having fun doing it, then it must be heaven.

See you in a couple days
