the first one, wonder if the front suspension is compressed,
such as after a bump....nice how the ram air snorkel is up against the fender....

---Forks are internally lowed about 2" and not slid up through the triple like some drag/lsr bikes.  There was probably some suspension travel but not as much as a stocker given the lowering blocks.  Normally there is about 1" of gap between the top of the fender and underneath the ram air tube given my current set-up.  I try not to go too low as I'm on my 3rd fender now.  As you may know the ZX12 Ram air Snorkel has a metal bracket that consists of 2 screws that clamp onto the inner upper cowl.  Since I had no cowling I didn't bolt it nor did I try and make a bracket that would secure it to either the headlight or fender and chose to let it be.  Wiggling it around while still it had some flex but nothing to be too worried about.  Figured it would bend slightly up or down (naturally) as the speeds picked up.  Too low can be a problem ...when I ran at bonneville I had a big chunk out of my stocker and couldn't get a good stock one in time so I had to make do with ductape.

Uh, Mark -- DW is David Whealon, the photographer that was using a very big off-white colored lens at Maxton.  Rchop is Randy such-and-such -- and he's the guy that took and posted these photos.

You're forgiven.

Yeah, Joe, that's it.  I knew it was one of those really unusual foreign names.  That's why I couldn't rememer, much less spell it.

By the way -- I've ordered a batch of photos from David Whealon.  I want to see just how good his work is in person -- not just on this site.  I will get the shots in a few days -=- so all I know as of right now is that he's certainly good with the service before the sale, and in confirming my order and even thanking me for the payment.  No slacker there. . .  I plan to use at least one of his shots in the newspaper article I'll write about last weekend's racing.  Don't forget, all the rest of you -- your local newspaper is probably looking for stuff of local interest, so please consider writing about your racing, add a few photos, even give credit to any local firms that support your racing efforts.  It's a chance to get your name in the paper and generate some good clippings for the scrapbook (and the grandkids, too).

Jon,  I have ordered from DW several times.

The best deal is to call in your order (do not order from the web if you need more than 1 or 2 prints)  If you need larger prints or multiples he does a better deal if you just call him.

I had him make me 2 larger prints (11x14  I think may have been 13's)  the image quality was great even at the larger sizes.

I am fixing to have a Margarita from my wife's new Margaritaville make machine and order some prints from June.

Here's the album containing all my photos from this past event.  It was my first time to Maxton, had a great time!  I was helping out the Nelson clan w/ the rusty Stude so didn't get to race myself.  Plan to return on two wheels someday...
