320 Buick Flywheel
« on: June 09, 2009, 09:44:34 AM »
What's the latest / greatest option or supplier for the 320 Buick flywheel ?
I am machining the bell for a T-10

One thing I need to clarify : are all stock 320 flywheels cast iron {not allowed in any racing} .

Is anybody supplying a C-4 adaptor ? {different option / route }

Thanks

You could try Wilcap. They made my Lotus flywheel. I expect to check with them for the Dodge when I get that far along. How far from a GMC is a buick bolt patteren for the bellhousing to block? There is a steel GMC/Chevy to late Chevy blowshield adapter on EBay that a local salt racer is selling.

Trans adapters: http://www.transmissionadapters.com/Buick_straight_eight_263_320.htm

Potential flywheel: "We stock a line of automotive and marine flywheels and flexplates.  We can also duplicate just about any flywheel in aluminum.  All of our flywheels are made from the finest material and are CNC machined.  Multiple pressure plate patterns, multi disk flywheels, and customs on request."

Thanks Mike  , I'm on it !

Rich ,  here I thought you were SLAVING AWAY ! ... on second thought ... what am I doing in here .
I left a message with Wilcap . I bet it will work out .

I hear tell of a 427 Ford wheel working with a little machineing . I'm hoping for "quick" ideas / suppliers . Hopefully Wilcap has specks and can jump on it .
I have a couple Chevy blow proofs , but the stock Buick , thick cast bell is easily converted to the T-10 pattern and flange . It's at the machinist.

I had Wilcap do a custom wheel for me to put a 2 disc Quartermaster on a SBC type disc. Nice and works well. Perhaps I misled him when ordering but.... don't be in a hurry! :|
