Kids and LSR - Old Number Seven goes to school
« on: May 27, 2009, 01:19:45 PM »
I couldn't NOT share this.

My oldest daughter (the one that I was talking about in another thread about Kids and LSR) had a class assignment to do and she decided she wanted to talk about "how to tech a bike".

She was graded on how she spoke in front of the class and got a 4 of 4 grade.  She went over the logbook, safety inspection sheet, and covered high-level items that she tech's in the garage before we leave.

My favorite things (besides the whole thing) was the whole thing hahahaha.  She demo'd the fuel shutoff/engine kill, pulled the seat and explained the metal battery holdown "the battery is very heavy because it's full of lead so if the seat flies off you don't want the battery to go flying and hurt somebody".  She also covered safety wire because "if these bolts come out, your wheel will fall off and that would be bad".

Is there anything better than this?  brings tears to my eyes.

The bike still has El Mirage dirt on it

Great story!

Why does it look like the girls are paying attention and the boys aren't?

Mike

That's what I thought too when I saw the picture .... but then again I was 'sneaking' the picture on my phone.  We really weren't supposed to be in there - so it was taken before she started talking :)  As soon as she fired up the drill to remove the seat all the boys were looking. The other kids did demonstrations on how to make cookies or braid hair .... but then Mariana comes in with a Busa :)  I couldn't be more proud of my little girl.  I can only imagine what Zoe will bring with her when it's her turn!!!

Now that you mention it, I remember that Glen has invited Nancy for a tour -- although I guess I'd have been allowed to tag along.  Ditto with Debbie Dross -- he invited her, but Todd was given permission to attend, too.

Nothing wrong with you, Glen.  Not a bit.
