Another loss to the landspeed racers. Don and his brother built many cars over the years. Out of the box was normal for them. RIP Don sad

Don's passing is  a personal loss to someone who has been co- worker, employer, student, advisor and always a friend thru the years. His accomplishmets on the salt and dry lakes were but a smidgin of the things he did. His turbocharging expertise , composite and chassis fabrication efforts were incredible. Besides the white car that Hoover drove to I believe  a top time at Muroc -a car intended to be the first 300 mph dragster ( politics killed that effort), and his work with Jim Fueling, plus the Eyeball and Dempsey electric record holders, Don also fabricated the chassis on the MOB first five-second Fuel Altered and Rod Hynes McGee 4 valve powered  Altered along with trick aero stuff, not to mention, the two Buick "Batmobile " bodies for Bernstein and even chassis work for Chrysler -Shelby on devlopment cars, among many other things.

Yours truly has never known an individual with more FOCUS and DETERMINATION than Don.

I already miss him and will always.

WOW, our racing community has really taken a hit recently.

The respect that is paid to him is a representation of his skill and accomplishments.

What a devastating year.

There will be a memorial get-together for Don Arivett Sunday June 7 at 4 PM.

Location is Fleming Park in Colton, Ca.

Off the 10 Freeway either East or West take the 9th St off-ramp. Go North on 9th to F St then turn left a block to the park. It's  on the North side of F St between La Cadena Dr and 7th St.

Don's brother and collaborator Gerald's phone number is 909 204 2332 for more information.
