streamliner tubing dimensions
« on: April 27, 2009, 09:30:45 AM »
Can anyone please update me on the roll cage situation with regards to tube sizing? After BUB last year, rumour was the SCTA were looking to change the roll cage dimensions to come in line with the car sizes. Is that still a possibility or is it still 1 1/4" by 0.090"?

But if you build it to car cage specs, you will always be legal... no matter what they decide and it won't weigh or cost that much more... Oh, and you might be safer...  :|

Small increase in diameter = big change in stiffness with tiny weight penalty.

8-) Yes, go with the car specs and use the bigger tube. That's what I'm going to do. Just going to cut the rider compartment out and re-do it with bigger tubes.  :-D
