Gas Coupe & Blown Gas Coupe Question
« on: May 25, 2010, 10:58:16 PM »
Hello,

I am in the process of searching for a car to turn in to a land speed racer.

I am going to run in gas coupe and blown gas coupe and was wandering if there is any rules against running a vehicle with a sun/moon roof.

Thank you for your assistance.

JP

You will have to tab the roof panels in the same manner as the front and rear windows.

You'd be miles ahead just not to build a car like that.  Get one with a full roof.  DickJ

Thank you for the help.  I ordered my rule book today and have been salt bit since speed week last year.  I raced formula Karts for 14 years and am ready for a new challenge.

What is meant by having to tab the front and rear windows?

Thanks,
JP

Lots of cars can have their windows blow out at speed from pressure differentials-- so it is required that you have metal tabs  from the body out over the glass to hold them in.

If you look at the hundreds of photos you took you will notice a lot of cars have straps across the windows...
