For 2009 M/C Streamliner competitors racing the BUB Trials will need:
Snell SA or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, or 31.1/2005 rated helmets with NOMEX interior liners....................

Does this include just wearing the Nomex head sock, or is this s new lining in the helmet?

The SA rated helmets have NOMEX linings as part of the design............however, they don't aways have a "skirt" so I would still wear a NOMEX head sock ..............................................

Bak, it appears that the scta backed off their requirement for SA in 2009, Looking at the specs, it appears the only difference is the flame resistant lining.  Wearing a nomex headsock has been a scta requirement for years.  Guess Denis is staying with the requirement...  :|

SNELL "SA" testing.

Along with the regular requirements and testing done on the "M" rated helmets,
the "SA" standards and testing consist of...

1. Nomex liner and chin straps.

2. Nitrogen filled foam rubber.

3. Extra thick face shield.

4. Flame retardant paint.

5. Extended impact testing.

For those overseas competitors; from the inquiries I've made it appears neither the British, Japanese, or European Standards organizations have a similar rating.
So, all helmets in streamliner classes must have SNELL SA rating.

The following is a list of helmet brands who sell a line that is SA approved.
1. ARAI racing helmets
2. Bell helmets
3. G-FORCE helmets
4. Pyrotect racing helmets
5. Zamp racing helmets

Hope this helps, and best of luck to everyone.

Simpson has several helmet models that are available with a nylon liner made to Snell M standards or a Nomex liner made to Snell SA standards.

Did anyone else notice that Snell M2005 is required for all of us this year?

I'm betting a lot of people show up with M2000 helmets and fail tech.

If they waited one more year they could save us all a lot of money, because the 2010's would be out.

Will the Snell 2010 spec be a requirement next year? Seen it on the Arai site...need to know for next year! Gabriel.

I brought a nice new Stroud helmet, it passed tech, too bad my fire wall didn't.
I guess I shot myself in the foot (if I had 1 :-D)
Had a good test session tho and can't wait till BUB 2010.
