Question about rule 3.D.1

The rule states that all cars over 135 should use a racing seat and all cars over 150 are required to use a racing seat. Should use one and are required to use one are two different things to me it sounds like you could get by with out a racing seat for 135. Am I wrong maybe some one could clarify this for me.

My understanding is that you can get teched for 135mph with a production interior unless it is a convertible in which case you need rollover protection. That will hold you to 139 but you will get the boot if you hit 140+ on a 135 tech. What you don't want to do is run in a class where the record is already 140+ as you will have to tech to the current record. That is why you see folks run time only and keep it at 135 in much more capable cars.

ray321 it is called racing, use a racing seat, you will want to go faster someday, the makers of the seats do alot of testing for good reason.
